Hi there! I'm Cameron Gainey. I teach Science and Math on the team with Laura Hill (ELA and Social Studies). I also co-facilitate the Science Olympiad and Dungeons & Dragons Clubs. 2022-2023 will be my 4^th year at LES, and it's hard to believe how quickly it's gone!

 

I grew up in Wake Forest, NC and attended Davidson College, where I earned a degree in Biology. My spouse Olivia and I now live in Raleigh with our 4 pets: Priscilla the cockatiel, Callie the bearded dragon, a yet-to-be-named ball python, and Cheppo the hamster, cutest of them all. A few years after college, I went back to school to earn my teaching license at East Carolina University.

 

Outside of school, I love listening to, playing, and composing music, especially on my acoustic guitar. I also enjoy reading, exploring nature, and playing tabletop games, particularly Dungeons & Dragons.
