I am originally from Rocky Mount, NC and I like to think of myself as a local, having always lived in NC. Although I did spend a school year teaching English in Slovakia. That was such a great experience. I received my Bachelor's in Elementary Ed from ECU (GO PIRATES!) and my Masters in Elem Ed: Curriculum & Instruction from NC State (GO PACK!). I've been at LES for quite a while. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, was also a 3rd-5th grade Intervention teacher, and, of course, Kindergarten these last few years. I simply love the community here! In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with friends (usually with a cup of coffee or hot tea in hand), hiking, and photography. I also love spending time with my nephews and niece.

My name is Manisha Thakar. I am originally from India. I came to the US many years ago, and ever since have been in Raleigh, NC. I have been an instructional assistant in Spec Ed, 1st grade and Kindergarten. This is my 11th year at Leesville. I have two loving and kind boys ❤️ In addition, I love cooking and plants.
