I am from Reading, Pennsylvania where I earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education with a dual certificate in Early Childhood from Kutztown University. Later, I earned my Master’s degree in Reading Education from East Carolina University. I began my teaching career in Granville County and worked with second-graders and kindergarteners for seven years. In August 2012, I began working here at Leesville and have enjoyed teaching and learning in this wonderful community. My husband is also a teacher here at Leesville, and we have a beautiful daughter and a handsome son. Outside of school, we enjoy visiting our families in Pennsylvania, riding dirt bikes, and just spending time together.

I grew up in Wendell , NC and then got my associate's degree in early childhood education. I’ve had many different roles from working as a CNA on the pediatric floor, to working as a support specialist for a teenage girl with special needs, and teaching preschool. The past three years I’ve been an Instructional Assistant in Kindergarten at Oak Grove Elementary. Working with children has always been a passion of mine. I look forward to supporting, encouraging, and creating a safe place for every student. 🙂

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending quality time with my husband, extended family, and friends. I enjoy traveling, trying new foods, coffee, reading, hiking, and the beach!
