Ms. Tiffany Rich - Principal

I am the Principal of Sanford Creek Elementary and was honored to join the BlueJay “nest” ten years ago. This is my 28th year in education and my 24th year of experience in Multi-Track Year Round schools– all of which have been within the Wake County Public School System. Previous roles of mine include Teacher, Instructional Resource Teacher and Assistant Principal.  I am a product of  Wake Co. Public Schools with fond memories of growing up in Raleigh. I received my undergraduate degree in Child Development from Meredith College and my graduate degrees (Masters of Literacy Studies and Administration) from UNC Chapel Hill. Go Heels!!

I am a “beach goer” and enjoy weekends where I can take walks on the beach, eat ice cream on the pier, and dig my toes in the sand.  At home in Raleigh, most times one would find me working on a home improvement or decorating project, spending time with family and friends, and sneaking in rainy day naps with my cat.

Ms. Gladys Washington - Assistant Principal

I am honored to be the assistant principal of Sanford Creek Elementary. As an educator for more than 25 years, I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from North Carolina Central University and a graduate degree in School Administration from North Carolina State University. Prior to becoming an assistant principal, I was a classroom teacher with experience in grades one through four. Over the span of my career, I've taught in South Carolina, Edgecombe County Schools, and Harnett County Schools. The majority of my professional career has been in Wake County Public School System. As an advocate for equity, I am passionate about ensuring all students have equitable access to the resources they need to be successful, providing rigorous and engaging learning opportunities, and building strong partnerships with families and students. Sanford Creek is my home! At the beginning of every school year, I look forward to making amazing memories while leading alongside fellow Blue Jays to inspire lifelong learning, servant leadership, and excellence!
