This Week at Lacy
For October 28-Nov 1
HUGE SHOUT-OUT TO OUR FALL FESTIVAL COMMITTEE and SPONSORS!!!
What a fun night! Thanks to everyone for coming out Friday night to support Lacypalooza. We truly appreciate all those who donated time, money, and supplies to make this a huge success.
Many thanks to our Fall Festival Committee: Jocelyn Shaw, Suzanne Pierce, Caroline Walker, Kate Ward, Sarah Donovon, and Mary Willoughby. You all did an amazing job!
Congrats to all Lacy Lions for hitting our fundraising goall! These PTA funds will go directly to all students/staff this year. Thanks to all who sold/bought raffle tickets!
4TH GRADE MATHLETES TRAINING VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Come help our Lacy 4th graders improve their knowledge, confidence, and speed in knowing basic multiplication facts! All supplies will be provided and it’s an easy way to encourage 4th grade “mathletes." (We’ll even provide a cheat sheet with all of the multiplication facts and answers so no need to be a math whiz!)
Sign up to volunteer with Mathletes HERE.
We will meet in the Lacy cafeteria from 8-8:30am on Wednesdays and Thursdays starting Wednesday, Oct. 30th through Thursday, Nov. 21st. You are not committed to all of this time -- please volunteer for as many sessions as you'd like. As always, all volunteers must be registered with WCPSS. Contact Stacy Martin (stacysjp@gmail.com) or Anna Mellinger (annagmellinger@gmail.com) with any questions.
LACY PARTNERSHIP WITH ASHEVILLE SCHOOL- Helene Donation Opportunity
We are thrilled to begin our partnership with Lucy Herring Elementary School in Asheville! In the coming weeks, Lacy students and teachers will be sending videos, letters, care packages, and supplies to welcome back the staff and students of Lucy Herring.
There will be two wish lists available for donations:
-
One list contains items that will be shipped directly to Lucy Herring Elementary.
-
The other list includes items that will be sent to Lacy, where they will be used to create self-care packages for all 65 staff members at Lucy Herring.
Additionally, every classroom at Lacy will be paired with a teacher or staff member at Lucy Herring, ensuring that all Lacy students can participate personally in this outreach effort.
If you’d like to contribute, please click here to donate.
This is a meaningful opportunity to engage with your student about the power of community and supporting others in times of need. Thank you for being part of this important initiative!
