• Career Development

Our Career and Technical Education (CTE) program is designed to assist students in making knowledgeable career choices that will prepare them to be globally competitive in the workforce, prepare students for employment opportunities, advanced education and productive lives.

CTE promotes best practices that enhance teachers' efforts to improve student achievement and encourage responsible career choices. We want to meet students' needs, cultivate their abilities and help them realize their aspirations. Your Career Development Coordinator can help you develop the skills you need to become career, college and citizenship ready.

    Mrs. Tracey Latham

I'm Mrs. Latham and am the Career Development Coordinator for Durant Road Middle.  I have been here at Durant Middle for 29 years, 17 of those as the CDC.  I believe at the middle school level it is important for students to have exposure to a variety of careers and be able to explore the many opportunities that will be available to them at the high school level and beyond. By providing various career events and explorations, students can make informed decisions when they understand the school-to-work connections.  When students, parents, educators and businesses in the community work together, we can prepare our students to be college and career ready.
