Mr. Gerald Hernandez, Jr., Principal 

Mr. Gerald Hernandez, Jr. joined Fuller GT/AIG Basics Magnet Elementary School as principal on August 1, 2022. He previously worked for Cumberland County Schools since 2004. Prior to becoming principal, Mr. Hernandez had many experiences, including instructional assistant, bus driver, classroom teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master’s in School Administration. Mr. Hernandez is currently enrolled in school and pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. Mr. Hernandez models lifelong learning and is an example to students and teachers that we never stop learning. Mr. Hernandez wants all students to excel and become whoever they want to be when they grow up. It is his privilege to lead Fuller GT/AIG Basics Magnet Elementary School and the many talented teachers and students here! Mr. Hernandez looks forward to meeting each of you and learning how he can best support you throughout this year, and many more to come. GOOOOO Falcons!

Dr. Kenyann Stanford, Assistant Principal

Dr. Stanford has filled multiple roles at Fuller, including music and piano teacher and Magnet Coordinator, since 2008.  She has served as Assistant Principal since 2014.  She is a graduate of the West Virginia University College of Creative Arts, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law, and the East Carolina University School of Education.  Dr. Stanford received her Doctorate in Educational Leadership at the East Carolina University School of Education, authoring a study focusing on equity in student discipline and the relationship between discipline gaps and academic achievement gaps.  Four of Dr. Stanford's six children are Fuller alumni who continued their GT/AIG magnet journeys at Ligon Middle School and Enloe High School, and her two youngest are current Ligon students.  Dr. Stanford's gifts and passions include piano, musical theatre, summer reading, kayaking, hiking and waterfall-chasing in state and national parks, biking, college football, any sport or performance in which her kids or her students participate, and Fuller GT/AIG Magnet Elementary School!
