Welcome to Fifth Grade!  My name is Ms. Umelo and I am happy to be returning to Lead Mine as a fifth-grade teacher for the school year 2023-2024.   I transitioned to teaching in 2000 from the travel industry.  I’ve taught fifth, third, and first grades.  I am happy about the opportunity to be teaching fifth grade again.  I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, crocheting, and learning about different cultures by traveling.  My teaching philosophy is centered on providing a well-balanced, supportive, and engaging learning environment, enabling students to reach their highest potential. We are going to learn so many great things this year and I am looking forward to it.
