Herbert Akins Elementary Children’s Chorus is an ensemble of singers, grades 3-5, who attend consistent and scheduled rehearsals comprised of members who choose to be a part of an ensemble that rehearses music varied in genre. The repertoire selected is carefully chosen and is appropriate for the vocal development of young musicians meeting beyond the general music classroom. The rehearsals culminate with performances at various school functions such as the Veteran's Breakfast, Global Festival and the Annual Fuquay Tree Lightning.  

This year’s rehearsals will be on Thursday’s starting at 7:45 am unless specified in the practice schedule. Participants will drop off in the bus loop on scheduled rehearsal dates and enter through the cafeteria doors and make their way to Mr. Bond’s Music Room 117. Rehearsals will begin promptly, and students will need to be on time. Students are expected to always exhibit excellent behavior. If inappropriate behavior ever becomes an issue, that can and will be grounds for dismissal from participation with the group. 

REHEARSAL ATTENDANCE Singers must attend ALL rehearsals to fully learn the music being taught. However, we understand that unavoidable circumstances do arise. 

PERFORMANCE ATTENDANCE All performances listed on the calendar posted are mandatory. If you find you have a conflict with a performance, send a request to Mr. Bond at jsbond@wcpss.net
