Mrs. Sanchez has been a principal in the Wake County Public School System for 12 years. She previously served as an Assistant Principal for 5 years, and was a Special Education Teacher for 8 years. She has been an Eagle for many years at Durant Road Elementary, Harris Creek Elementary, and at Clarion University of Pennsylvania, where she received her Bachelors Degree for Elementary Education and Special Education. She received her Masters in School Administration at NC State University.

Outside of school, Mrs. Sanchez enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons, and their dog, Fozzie. She likes active sports like Rugby and recently took up Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. She enjoys spending time at the beach and the mountains, traveling to new places, and reading. 

Mrs. Sanchez is an advocate for all learners and celebrates diversity, which is her favorite thing about Durant Road Elementary!

I was our former Administrative intern for the 2023-2024 school year and am thrilled to be the Assistant Principal and Behavior Specialist for this upcoming school year.

DRES has been my home for 9 years. I have gotten to know so many families and made so many meaningful relationships. I look forward to working hand in hand with our DRES students, staff, and families. Outside of school, I love to sing, spend time with my family, and travel.

It is going to be another great year!
