Mrs. Tracie Sanchez
Mrs. Sanchez has been a principal in the Wake County Public School System for 12 years. She previously served as an Assistant Principal for 5 years, and was a Special Education Teacher for 8 years. She has been an Eagle for many years at Durant Road Elementary, Harris Creek Elementary, and at Clarion University of Pennsylvania, where she received her Bachelors Degree for Elementary Education and Special Education. She received her Masters in School Administration at NC State University.
Outside of school, Mrs. Sanchez enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons, and their dog, Fozzie. She likes active sports like Rugby and recently took up Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. She enjoys spending time at the beach and the mountains, traveling to new places, and reading.
Mrs. Sanchez is an advocate for all learners and celebrates diversity, which is her favorite thing about Durant Road Elementary!

Ms. Keri Behr
Ms. Keri Behr – Assistant Principal
Ms. Behr has proudly served the Wake County Public School System and been a dedicated member of the Durant Road Elementary School community since 2016. Over the years, she has worn many hats—including roles in Visually Impaired (VI) education, STEM, 2nd grade, and now Administration. Through these experiences, she has built strong, lasting relationships with countless DRES families and continues to cherish the connections she’s made.
A passionate advocate for all learners, Ms. Behr holds a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and Master’s degrees in both Elementary Education and School Administration. She also holds multiple certifications that support her commitment to inclusive and effective education.
Outside of school, Ms. Behr is a proud mom of four, a pet parent to three beloved fur babies, and enjoys singing, traveling, and spending quality time with her family. She looks forward each day to working hand in hand with DRES students, staff, and families to create a positive and supportive learning environment for all.
