Hi!  My name is Heather Layman.  This is my 6th year at LHECMES. I have had many roles in the county over my 24 years of experience, 3rd and 4th Grade Teacher, Math and Literacy Coach, Instructional Resource Teacher, and finally the Intervention Teacher at Lincoln Heights. I am a product of Wake County, graduating from Apex High School.  I attended East Carolina University for Elementary Education degree, as well as a master's degree in School Administration. My husband and I met at ECU! I have two children, my daughter just finished at ECU, and my son will start his freshmen year at ECU. We are die-hard PIRATES!!! My family enjoys seeing the Pirates play football, trips to the coast and spending time with our extended family. My passion is working with students at the elementary level. I love to see new learning taking place every day in and out of the classroom.
