Welcome to White Oak Elementary School! I am super excited to have the opportunity to serve as the principal of our wonderful school! White Oak opened in August 2016 on a traditional calendar serving students from prekindergarten through fifth grade. The school design includes collaborative learning spaces where students will engage in many unique learning opportunities. The White Oak staff will create an environment where students will be challenged through daily learning experiences that require students to think critically and creatively to solve problems. As principal of WOE, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to create a culture where students are encouraged to explore rigorous tasks each day.

I am excited to be an Explorer at White Oak! I grew up in North Carolina, attended Duke University for undergraduate, and the College of William & Mary for graduate school. I taught first, third, and fourth grades for a total of ten years before becoming an assistant principal. I was an assistant principal at another elementary school in Raleigh for eight years before coming to White Oak. I enjoy forming relationships with students, families, and staff that help everyone grow and learn! Outside of school, I enjoy reading, traveling, and spending time with my family.
