Mrs. Barbara Fair

Principal

 

Ms. Fair has lived in New Jersey, California, and London England before settling in Cary, NC. Her and her husband Rob have three grown children: Nicholas, Alexander, and Matthew who are all proud graduates of WCPSS. Ms. Fair started out her professional life as a Registered Nurse. When her children were in elementary school she started working as a part-time Teacher Assistant and realized that she wanted to make a career change to be a teacher. She received her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from North Carolina Central University. She has taught 1st, 4th, and 5th grades and has held the roles of Instructional Resource Teacher, Magnet Coordinator, and STEM coordinator before moving into Administration. Ms. Fair attended North Carolina State University for her Masters of School Administration Degree. She has been an Assistant Principal at Kingswood Elementary in WCPSS and joined Davis Drive Elementary as Principal in January 2021.

Mrs. Leann Hamstra

Assistant Principal

Mrs. Hamstra lived in Iowa and Arkansas and then moved to North Carolina when she was a freshman in high school.  She graduated high school from Athens Drive High School in Raleigh.  Mrs. Hamstra earned her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a degree in Elementary Education and Psychology, and she earned her master's degree in School Administration from ECU.  She has taught both third and fifth grade at Davis Drive Elementary.  Mrs. Hamstra loves to spend time traveling, cooking and reading books with her husband and two sons Myals, who is in first grade and Jasper who is 2.
