Walk and Bike

  • WALKER INFORMATION

Parents should write a note to their student's teacher to allow their students to walk to and/or from school. Students may walk to school, with a parent, if they live within 3 miles of Lincoln Heights. Students may enter the school at 8:00am when the bell rings. Walkers will be dismissed at 3:00 and will be escorted only on the perimeter of the school campus by LHES staff members. Parents must be at the designated receiving location to meet and accompany their student for the remainder of the walking route.

If you're student is a walker, please check out these useful links:

There’s growing interest in encouraging walking and bicycling to school in Wake County and across North Carolina for the health, social, academic, and other benefits. Lincoln Heights is one of five schools participating in the Wake Model Safe Routes to School grant program aimed at helping improve safety and encourage more students and families to get to school by walking or biking. Our school is receiving staff support and funding to implement recommendations in the Lincoln Heights Safe Routes to School Action Plan, which was developed during the 2015/16 school year. Please contact John Cordaro if you are interested in getting involved in SRTS at Lincoln Heights ES.
