Ms. Bouchard feels blessed to have loved every day of her 22 years as a teacher. Helping students learn to read is her passion! Outside of school, she loves to snuggle her dog, Carson, Crossfit and spend time with her own boys who are grown up and on thier own!

Ms. Dortch is excited to jump into year 4 as the AIG Coordinator to help nurture, challenge, and grow all of our Hawks this school year! She has a 3 year old son, Greysen. Ms. Dortch is a proud alumna of North Carolina Central University where she received an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. She also received certification from Duke University in AIG K-12, and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction at Gardner-Webb University. When Ms. Dortch is not teaching or tutoring, you can find her exercising, baking, or enjoying her family.

Ashley Howey has been an educator for 25 years. She is a native of Durham and has moved quite a bit including three years in Germany. Ms. Howey has two daughters who are both in college. She graduated from East Carolina University with her masters in Reading from NC State University. Ms. Howey is a National Board certified teacher. She is excited for the Hortons Creek community to continue to grow her passions as an educator.

Mrs. Pomes is super excited to be a HAWK for the 23-24 school year! She is originally from Long Island, NY where she studied at Queens College to complete her Master's Degree in Education. She and her husband, Anthony, moved to North Carolina in 2007. They currently call Chapel Hill home. They have two sons (Nicholas-8th grade and Vincent-5th grade) and a mini poodle (Marty McFly). Mrs. Pomes hopes her passion and excitement for science allow her students to grow their love of science as well. When she's not teaching she enjoys gardening, watching movies, baking, being with family, and traveling.

Jenna Stilwell has been teaching for 15 years and loves being a part of the Hortons Creek community. She is currently the Math Coach/Interventionist and has previously taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades all in Wake County. Ms. Stilwell is passionate about equity and student driven learning. She loves learning new things from students and teachers every year. When she is not at school, Ms. Stilwell enjoys spending time with her family. She loves to cook, try new recipes, and enjoys visiting new places.

Kristin Zei is the ESL teacher and shares the AIG teacher title with Ms. Dortch. She is also the testing coordinator. She was born in Rhode Island, but moved to NC when she was 4 years old. She lived in Charlotte and Greensboro before moving to Raleigh to go to NC State (Go Pack!). This is her 17th year in Wake County. She has been a Spanish teacher and Instructional Technology Facilitator and has worked at all levels - high school, middle school, and now elementary. She is passionate about language, technology, and helping students grow as learners and people. She lives in Holly Springs with her husband and son and their dogs. She can't wait for another amazing year at Hortons Creek!
