    2025-2026 School Year

What an amazing 25–26 school year it has been! We are so proud of all our students and grateful for the support from our families and PTA throughout the year. We hope everyone enjoys a fun, restful, and relaxing summer break.

During the summer, please encourage your child to read each day. Research shows that reading for just 20 minutes daily can expose students to nearly one million words each year while strengthening vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension skills. A little reading each day can make a big difference!

    Report Cards

Please review your child’s report card. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher asap. Teachers will be on break beginning on May 28th. After that date, teachers will be relaxing on summer break.

If your child was absent on the last day of school and did not receive a report card, please arrange to pick it up at PME.

    Re-Testing EOGs 3rd-5th Grade

North Carolina requires students in grades 3–5 to take End-of-Grade (EOG) tests in reading and math, with science in grade 5. Scores show whether students are proficient.

Students who score “Not Proficient” may choose to retake the test during the last 10 days of school (May 11th–22nd). Retesting is optional and requires the parent/guardian permission letter sent home with your student. Students who pass (levels 3–5) are not eligible to retest.

Please let us know in advance if you would like your child to have the opportunity to retest if eligible by returning the form to your child’s teacher by Friday, May 1st.

For questions, contact our testing coordinator, Megan Ryan, at mryan2@wcpss.net.
