Magnet Applications for Middle School & Kindergarten
For fifth-grade families, if you would like your child to attend a Magnet Middle School, you must apply to the school of your choice. The application period for Early College is Dec. 12th. The deadline for all other magnet school applications is Jan. 23rd.
Rising Kindergarten students need to be registered at their base school. If you wish to send your rising Kindergarten child to a Magnet Elementary School, the magnet application must be completed by Jan. 23rd.

WNC FUNraiser
PME raised over $1700 to help WNC families at Hendersonville Elementary. On Tues., the top five teachers who received the most money ran in the inflatable race. They were Ms. Livermore, Mr. McEwen, Ms. Skalski, Ms. Moore, and Ms. Alzaben. As a school community, we had a great time watching them complete the obstacle course. Thank you for your contribution to making this service project a success.
Camp Options - Please Help
We love our track-out… but know that finding camps for track-out can be challenging!
PME would like to provide a resource for our families to promote camps their children have had positive experiences attending. Fall Planting Day - Thank you!
Thank you to our small but mighty Fall Planting Day team. We spread mulch, trimmed, bagged, and raked.
Literacy Night - Thank you!
First, thank you to all the staff who made Literacy Night a success. We appreciate the PTA for taking care of us by providing a meal and to all of the parents and students who attended! It was a great community-building event.
Scholastic Book Fair - Thank you!
Thank you to Mrs. Linehan for coordinating the Scholastic Book Fair and to the parent volunteers who helped ensure that set-up, shopping, and take-down went smoothly. We appreciate you!

PME adopted Hendersonville Elementary School, an elementary school in Western NC affected by Hurricane Helene. Our FUNraiser raised over a thousand dollars, and 100% of the money will support Hendersonville Elementary students and families. The five staff members who received the most money will participate in an Epic Inflatable Costume Race in front of the entire school on Nov 12th at 2:30 in the playground area.

Please join us from 9-12 pm or briefly to help us improve our campus’s appearance. Volunteers are needed to spread mulch, trim, rake, etc. Bring any tools you can use to help with the work. Students are welcome. Thank you in advance for your support in improving our landscaping.

Scholastic Book Fair
The annual Scholastic Book Fair will unfold its magical doors at the following hours.
Wednesday, November 6: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Thursday, November 7: 8:00 am to 7:00 pm Friday, November 8: 8:00 am to 3:30 pm
This is an excellent opportunity to shop ahead and purchase holiday gifts for your family.
Literacy Night
Please join us for Literacy Night: Bedtime Stories on Thursday, November 7th, from 5 to 6:30 pm, where you can bring your little ones for a cozy evening filled with storytelling and fun activities planned by your children’s teachers. Spanish interpreters will be available to assist you if needed. We hope to see you on Thursday!

The five staff members who receive the most money in their bucket by Nov 8th will participate in an Epic Inflatable Costume Race in front of the entire school on Nov 12th at 2:30 in the playground area.
Send in your "couch change" or any monetary donation, and have your child vote for who they want to see running around in an inflatable costume. Take a look at the inspiration for this event. Resources: FEMA HEALTHYCHILDREN.OR

The annual WCPSS Magnet Fair will be held tomorrow, Saturday, October 26th, from 9 to 12 p.m. at Enloe High School. Attending will allow you to talk with various school personnel to understand your magnet choices. Please see WCPSSMagnetInfo for more information.
PMES Trunk or Treat
The annual trunk-or-treat is back! It will be held on Oct. 29th from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. Decorate your car, hand out candy, or prepare games for this fun event—it is a popular one! Volunteers are needed to decorate trunks and assist with the event. Please see the signup genius for details!

NCSU Trunk or Treat
Beta Alpha Psi and Master of Accounting students at NCSU will host a Trunk or Treat at Capability South Parking Lot on NC State's Centennial campus on Sunday, October 27th, from 5-7 pm.
Lost & Found
The lost and found grows daily with student clothing, outerwear, water bottles, etc. Please label your child’s items; we can help relocate lost items to their rightful owner. This will help your budget and decrease the items we collect.

First Quarter Report Cards will be sent home on Tues. Oct. 22nd. Please review, sign, and return the envelope. If you have not had a parent/teacher conference and/or have questions, please contact your child’s classroom teacher.
Kindness Week Oct. 21st - 25th
Lessons for Kindness Week will take place in SEL Special. Lessons will focus on recognizing bullying and what to do if you are bullied. The theme is “Stand Up and Speak Out for Kindness!” Dress-up activities for the week are optional:

TEK Clubs are coming to Partnership Elementary!
What are TEK After School Enrichment Clubs?
An after-school club program that enriches student's academic experiences. Clubs will run Wednesday afternoons for 6 weeks from 3:30-4:45 (6 club sessions) from October 23-December 4, 2024. Two clubs will be offered:

Do you know the student procedures and library book expectations for PME? Whenever in doubt, please refer to Ms. Linehan’s website for information: Library Website.
Students may check out up to three books at a time. They have three weeks to return or exchange their books. If a book is lost or destroyed beyond repair, the family is responsible for paying a partial or full amount to replace it.

Volunteer Opportunity: Partners Read
We are seeking volunteers interested in making a difference through our Partners Read program! This program, funded by WakeEd Partnership, was developed for volunteers to read once weekly to two to three first-grade students to promote literacy and a love of reading. By September 30th
The program will be held on Wednesdays from 3:00-3:30 at PME, beginning after Fall Break. If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information and can commit to at least 2x a month, please contact Mary Linehan at mlinehan@wcpss.net by September 30th. She will share training information and a Sign-Up Genius for signing up. You must be registered as a volunteer to participate.
NCSU HELPS Program: Student Volunteers
Aligning with our magnet theme of "Interactive Community,” we are excited to announce that we will again partner with NCSU faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students to provide additional tutoring to some of our 2nd-5th grade PME students. Tutoring will be focused on reading fluency, utilizing HELPS, or math fact fluency, utilizing AMPPS, and will occur during the student's Strategic Support block. A letter will be sent home to all students receiving this additional help.
Volunteer Registration

Due to unforeseen weather conditions, the much-awaited and planned Frolic was rescheduled. It will be held next Friday, September 20th. The pizza lunch ordered will be served today. We apologize for any inconvenience. Students must buy or bring their lunch next Friday, but they will enjoy a popsicle treat.
