    Ms. Emily Adams

    About Ms. Adams

Originally from Farmington, CT, I made my way down south for college and now call Fuquay home. I graduated from ECU with a degree in Birth-Kindergarten education and then decided to add on an elementary education license. I loved it so much that I went back to ECU for my master’s in library science. I spent 8 years as a classroom teacher before diving into the library world for the past 12 years. I am married to my wonderful husband and have 2 amazing kids who are sea turtles at South Lakes. We also recently added our yellow lab Zoey to the family. When I’m not working, you’ll find me outside enjoying the beach or mountains, cheering on our favorite sports teams, and exploring new places.

    Ms. Carolyn Moravek

    About Ms. Moravek

"I earned my undergraduate degree in Music from Virginia Tech and later completed a master’s degree in Education. Since beginning my teaching career in 2013, I have been fortunate to spend more than a decade helping students grow through music. Along the way, I’ve had the opportunity to teach in different schools and communities, each of which has shaped my experience and deepened my love for teaching. After several moves, I am grateful to have found home in Fuquay. Both of my sons attend South Lakes, and we recently added a rescue dog to our family, who brings plenty of joy and energy to our household. In the classroom, I strive to create a space where students feel inspired to explore, learn, and discover their own musical voices. My goal is not only to help them build skills as musicians, but also to nurture creativity, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for music."

    About Ms. Schumann

With 27 years of experience in Visual Arts education, I bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to the SLES art studio classroom. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts from East Carolina University and a Master of Art Education from UNC Pembroke, along with National Board Certification since 2010. My teaching journey has taken me through all student levels, including elementary, middle school, high school, and college. I particularly enjoy working with watercolor painting, ceramics, and sculpture. Outside of teaching, I prioritize daily fitness through strength training, walking/jogging, and spin classes. I love the outdoors especially sunsets, mountains, and the coast. Currently, I live in Fuquay Varina with my husband, enjoying life as empty nesters while cherishing our four adult children and our adorable toddler grandson.
