Success in today’s global economy may require a two-or four-year degree, a certificate or diploma. Through Career & College Promise (CCP), qualified high-school-age students in North Carolina have the opportunity to pursue these options, tuition free, while they are in high school, allowing them to get a jumpstart on their workplace and college preparation.
CCP provides three pathways to help advance eligible students’ post-high school success:

Step 5: Check My Admissions Status
Wake Tech Admissions Services staff is available to assist applicants and current CCP students to check the documentation status of their CCP Application and/or Eligibility Verification (EV) Form. To schedule a virtual appointment to check you status, click "Step 5: Check My Admissions Status" above.
Step 6: Receive Admissions Status Correspondence
New Students
Upon the successful review and processing of application materials by the CCP Team, new students will receive an acceptance letter containing information and instructions on next steps for enrollment which includes Student Key Account Activation. CCP students will use their Wake Tech Student ID # to create their account, not their Social Security Number.
Continuing Students
Continuing Students will receive a confirmation email indicating their EV Form has been processed with instructions provided on how to register for courses.
Incomplete Status
Students who receive notification that their EV Form is deemed "Incomplete" will need to submit the requested documentation to ccp@waketech.edu. For additional assistance, refer back to Step 5 to schedule an appointment with a CCP Representative.

Step 8: Schedule CCP Virtual Advising Appointment
Both newly, admitted and continuing CCP students can meet virtually with a CCP advisor upon acceptance into the program. Wake Tech advisors and CCP advisors do not meet with prospective students. Step 9: Register for Classes & Confirm Schedule
General Information
CCP students are only allowed to take courses that are within their approved pathway(s). Students are also relegated to the allotted credits and restrictions within the disciplines. Students can confirm their approved pathway(s) and course schedule by logging into Self-Service or by scheduling a CCP Virtual Advising Appointment.

Students are reminded to check their class schedule near the beginning of the start of courses. Courses are sometimes closed by the department which could affect your schedule.
NOTE: CCP Office can review and utilize AP Scores (official or unofficial) for registration purposes only. Please submit scores to ccp@waketech.edu prior to registration to satisfy course prerequisites. Please feel free to submit an official AP Score Report to the Registration and Records Office to be evaluated for college credit.

Purchase Textbooks/Supplies/Course Materials
Career and College Promise (CCP) is a tuition free program, but students are responsible for textbooks, supplies, and course related fees. For more information, visit Wake Tech Official Bookstore.
Attend Class
Step 1: Attend a mandatory CCP Information Session.
Step 2:Verify your placement.
A student has the option to meet CCP program eligibility benchmarks with either an unweighted high school GPA of a 2.8 or higher or assessment scores in English, reading, and mathematics. Use the CCP Placement Guide to verify your current eligibility status. If necessary, prepare for and complete the RISE Reading/English and Math placement tests. Visit the Placement Testing section to learn more about preparing for the test and to see the current test schedule. Testing is on a first-come, first-served basis.
There are two RISE English tests. You must pass the first RISE English test with a score of 70 percent or higher to qualify to take the second RISE English test.
There are three RISE Math tests. You must pass the first RISE Math test with a score of 70 percent or higher to qualify to take the second RISE Math test. You must pass the second RISE Math test with a score of 70 percent or higher to take the third RISE Math test.
Step 3: Complete the verification form to confirm eligibility.
Each student is required to submit an Eligibility Verification form provided at the end of the information session. The completed form may be submitted electronically or by mail (Career and College Promise, Durham Technical Community College, 1637 Lawson Street, Building 10, room 307, Durham, NC 27703).
Step 4: Complete the Durham Tech online application.
At the CCP Information Session you will receive instructions on how to apply as a CCP student. Create an account at CFNC.org. Once you are logged in, access the CCP online application. To ensure you will be able to register on the first day of general registration for new students, submit your application by the priority registration date which is listed on the Enrollment Checklist form provided at the Information Session.
Step 5: Activate your ConnectMail and Self-Service Accounts.
ConnectMail is your official Durham Tech student email account. You should use this account to communicate with your instructors and college staff. WebAdvisor allows you to setup access to Self-Service, your student portal. In Self-Service, you can check your test scores, view your transcript, register for classes, and review your grades. You will learn more about activating these accounts at the mandatory information session.
Step 6: Attend an Orientation Session.
Once your eligibility is verified, you will receive a link to schedule your online orientation session (for schools where a College Liaison is located, check with your Liaison about the orientation process).
Step 7: Register for courses when new student registration opens.
Enrollment due dates are listed in Step 3. The last day to register will be discussed during orientation and advising.
Step 8: Obtain your student ID and buy your books.
Student IDs are provided at the Campus Police and Public Safety office. Students are responsible for obtaining their books.
Step 9: Begin classes!
