Ms. Anderson
I am thrilled to join Lead Mine's 2nd grade team. I grew up in Raleigh and have been teaching since 2020. I hold an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from WGU and am pursuing my Master's at UNC-Pembroke.
My passion for teaching stems from my love of reading—teaching kids how to read really is the best thing ever! I believe that early literacy is the foundation of lifelong learning, and I am dedicated to fostering a love for reading in my students. In my classroom, I focus on creating a nurturing environment where students can explore, play, and develop essential social-emotional skills. I'm excited to work with families to find fun and creative ways to include them in our classroom.
Outside of school, I'm an avid reader who particularly loves science fiction, fantasy, and poetry. I also enjoy baking (mostly bread, but also desserts), traveling, and spending time with my family, friends, and pets. I love being creative through painting, drawing, and collage, and I never leave home without a sketchbook and my travel case of pens, markers, and paint.
