My name is Kelly Bailey.  I am originally from Jackson, Mississippi but grew up in Raleigh, NC.  I attended East Carolina University and graduated with a MS in Elementary Education in 1997.  I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for graduate school and graduated with a MEd. in Literacy Education.  I am certified to teach Reading and also in Academically Gifted for grades K-12.  I have been teaching since 1997, almost entirely in North Carolina.  I am married to Josh, a 20-year active-duty soldier at Fort Bragg.  I have three children, two girls and a boy.

 

My oldest daughter works at a Boba Tea shop, my middle daughter is a SENIOR at Middle Creek High School and my son is a sixth grader at WLMS.  We have 2 Golden Retrievers and three cats at our house.  We love North Carolina, but were fortunate to live in Germany from 2018-2020, and we loved every minute of it! In my free time, I enjoy reading, hanging out with family and friends and traveling.  I have wanted to be a teacher since I was a young child and absolutely love what I do!  I am so happy to be working with your child and to be a part of the amazing team at LHECMES!!
