Ms. Jarvis
Hi! I’m Nicole Jarvis, and I am so excited to begin working with Lead Mine Elementary! I am originally from Greensboro, North Carolina, and after moving to 8 different states, I’m happy to be moving back.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in History and was originally planning to be a historian, but quickly fell in love with teaching and working with kids as both a paraprofessional and substitute teacher. I obtained my Master’s Degree in Special Education and Elementary Education from Arizona State University. I have worked with students ages in grades K-12 with many different learning needs and different brains. I most recently taught students with Autism and ADHD in middle school.
I believe everyone learns in different ways and that everyone has strengths and should be welcome to learn. I enjoy connecting with students and figuring out what motivates them and how they learn and approach ideas and problems. I strive to make sure they feel included and feel like they have a purpose and feel safe.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy hiking and walking with my dog, reading, knitting, and trying to learn different languages.
I am looking forward to a great year at Lead Mine!
