• Curriculum

The Academy of Information Technology (AOIT) curriculum is designed to help students explore technology by creating, building, and experimenting with digital tools. Students explore a wide range of topics including artificial intelligence, app and web development, digital media production, data, and emerging technologies.

Throughout the program, students design digital media, build apps and websites, produce video and digital content, and analyze digital trends and data. These experiences allow students to create with technology while developing a deeper understanding of how digital platforms and tools shape the world around them.

AOIT courses are built around project-based learning, where students collaborate with peers to design solutions, launch digital projects, and tackle real-world challenges. This hands-on approach helps students build critical thinking, communication, creativity, and problem-solving skills that are valuable in any career field.

Career-connected learning is an important part of the AOIT experience. Students engage in projects that connect classroom learning to real-world applications and industry practices. Throughout the program, students interact with industry professionals, participate in career exploration experiences, and receive feedback from mentors working in technology-related fields.

Through this combination of digital creation, collaboration, and real-world learning, AOIT prepares students to be adaptable, innovative thinkers ready for college, careers, and the evolving digital economy.

AOIT Theme 2025-2026: CTRL + ALT + DEL: Disrupt the System

This year, AOIT students are being called to think differently, reset outdated ways of doing things, and challenge the status quo. CTRL + ALT + DEL isn't just a keyboard shortcut; it's a mindset.  It's about taking control, thinking alternatively, and deleting what no longer works.  Each grade level will explore a unique focus that builds toward becoming bold, creative disruptors by senior year.

    Grade Level Focus

    • 9th Grade — Ignite Curiosity: Students will explore new ideas, ask big questions, and spark innovation through hands-on learning and collaboration.  Curiosity becomes the engine for creativity.
    • 10th Grade — Reimagine the System: Students will take a closer look at the surrounding systems; at school, in tech, and in the world.  They begin to imagine better ways forward.  Design thinking and problem-solving take center stage.
    • 11th Grade — This Is Not a Test: Students will engage in real-world projects, internships, and leadership roles that go beyond traditional learning. This year is about taking action, applying knowledge, and making an impact.
    • 12th Grade — Disruptors Playbook: Students will step into leadership as innovators, changemakers, and visionaries.  With skills and experience built over four years, seniors will drive projects that challenge norms and shape what's next.
