I have always wanted to be a teacher and was accepted into cohort one of the Wake County Future Teachers Program after graduating from Middle Creek High School. This program gave me the opportunity to enhance my knowledge for Wake County Schools and share my passion for teaching with others! I am a graduate of Appalachian State University. Go Mountaineers! I earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology. After completing my student teaching in first grade at Apex Elementary, I taught first grade for three years. This will be my second year teaching third grade! I am the grade level representative for the Multi-tiered System of Supports and a co-chair for the Social and Emotional Learning Committee.

In my free time, I love to read, watch TV, workout and be around my family and friends. I have completed a 10 mile race and will be doing my first half marathon in October! I am an animal lover and have a cat named Boonie and a dog named Shep.

I am so excited for another great year at Apex Elementary!
