What can the CDC do for my child?

    • Job Shadowing: This gives students an opportunity to see what they are learning in class in a real world setting.  The CDC can assist in setting up a job shadowing experience for your son/daughter.
    • Guest Speakers:  Business professionals are more than willing to come in and speak to classes about what they do. The CDC can arrange for a guest speaker to present to a classroom.
    • Field Trips:  The CDC can help plan a field trip for any class.
    • Interest Inventories:  These help students to match their interests to specific careers. A CDC can give an interest inventory assessment to a class or individual students.
    • Career Fairs:  This is an excellent opportunity for students to meet real world professionals in the area that they may be learning about in the classroom. The CDC sets up fairs in the fall and spring.
    • Internships, Part-time Employment & Volunteer Opportunities: The CDC can assist students in finding opportunities.
    • Career & College Planning: The CDC can assist students in identifying post-secondary academic options tailored to the student.
    • Student Programs: There are many programs that students can be a part of while in high school to find out more about a particular career pathway. The CDC can assist students in locating the best one based on his or her interest.
