Jerome Drew is a seasoned educator with over 18 years of experience dedicated to fostering student growth and academic achievement. Mr. Drew completed his undergraduate studies at High Point University and earned his graduate degree from East Carolina University. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to educational excellence and strong leadership. As a sixth-grade Assistant Principal, Mr. Drew is passionate about cultivating a positive and inclusive school environment that inspires both students and staff to excel.Outside his professional responsibilities, Mr. Drew enjoys spending quality time with his wife of fourteen years. He is also an enthusiastic sports fan, proudly supporting his favorite teams: the Dallas Cowboys, San Antonio Spurs, and the New York Yankees. With a blend of enthusiasm, leadership, and a commitment to education, Mr. Drew continually strives to make a meaningful impact in his school community.

Mrs. Lopez is passionate about creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to embrace challenges and grow from their experiences. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and Art and a Master’s in Education from Concordia University, as well as a Master’s in School Administration from East Carolina University.
Outside of her role in education, Mrs. Lopez is a proud mother of three wonderful children and a dog. She enjoys reading a good book and loves spending time outdoors.

As Assistant Principal at East Cary Magnet Middle School, Dr. Ellis is dedicated to supporting the school's mission of providing a relevant and engaging education for students that helps them develop their collaboration, creativity, effective communication, and critical thinking skills in an inclusive, caring, and nurturing learning environment. With 23 years of experience in education, Dr. Ellis has a deep commitment to student success and community engagement.Dr. Ellis earned undergraduate degrees in Elementary and Spanish from North Carolina A&T SU, master's degrees in Instructional Technology and Education Leadership from North Carolina A&T SU and East Carolina University, and a doctorate in Education Supervision and Administration from Gardner Webb University. Before joining the East Cary Magnet Middle School family, she served as a classroom teacher at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, an instructional coach, and an instructional technology facilitator. She has been at East Cary Magnet Middle School for 12 years where she initially served as the instructional resource facilitator and STEM coordinator before transitioning to her current administration role.Outside of Dr. Ellis' professional role, Dr. Ellis enjoys spending time with her family--her loving husband of 14 years and two daughters— one a 4th grader who attends elementary school in the Wake County Public School System and the other who is currently in her junior year at East Carolina University. She also enjoys cooking, singing, shopping, traveling and is a Starbucks fanatic!Dr. Ellis is eager to collaborate with students, staff, and families to ensure a positive and productive school experience for everyone.
