    🦖 Our First Octob-ROAR-Fest Was a Huge Success!


    What an incredible night at Rex Road Elementary’s first Octob-ROAR-Fest! Families filled the school to enjoy games, food, and fall fun all around campus. From pumpkin decorating and Mathnasium games to fairy hair, raffle baskets, and NC State’s “Creepy Crawlers” exhibit, there was something for everyone to enjoy.


    Guests were welcomed with lively musical performances led by Mr. Mangum, setting the perfect tone for an evening full of excitement and community spirit. Families enjoyed food trucks, games, and activities throughout the school, including a fun obstacle course provided by Therapy Lab. One of the biggest highlights of the night was watching Ms. McGuirt and Ms. Lawrence get slimed, a moment we won’t soon forget! 💚


    Even our beloved mascot, Rexie, made a special appearance with plenty of ROAR-some photo ops and high fives! 🦕


    A huge thank you goes out to our Fall Festival Committee: Lisa Bolyard, Lindsay Maciukiewicz, Michelle Steusloff, Kelly Oten, Lauren Gossett, and Courtney Morfing, along with our volunteers, staff, and families who helped make this event such a success. We’re also grateful to Mathnasium of Holly Springs, Therapy Lab, and NC State for hosting engaging activities that made the evening even more special. Special thanks to Needmore Farms and The Family Farm at Avent Ferry for their generous pumpkin donations, and to Po House Farms for providing a wonderful discount on the beautiful mums that helped bring our festival to life.

    Mathnasium (the same awesome team who brought the games to our Fall Festival!) is hosting this special Spirit Night on Friday, November 7th from 6:30pm–8:30pm.


    💵 $20 per student (cash only), with 100% going back to our Rex Road PTA!

    🦃 Thanksgiving Food Drive → Monday, November 3rd-Thursday, November 20th

    We’re collecting items to help provide Thanksgiving dinners for families in need! From November 3rd - November 20th, Rex Road Elementary will be accepting donations of non-perishable foods such as canned vegetables, boxed sides, stuffing, and more. You can sign up to contribute specific items through our SignUp Genius.


    Every donation helps make the holiday season brighter for our community. 💛

    💐 Teacher Luncheon → Friday, December 5th

    The PTA is hosting a Teacher Luncheon on Friday, December 5th! We’re excited to treat our amazing staff to a delicious meal in appreciation for all they do. Be on the lookout for a Sign-Up Genius to see how you can help contribute food, drinks, or volunteer time! 💜💛

    ♻️ Pop Tops for a Good Cause

    Rex Road Elementary is collecting aluminum pop tops to support the Ronald McDonald House! These small tabs make a big difference by helping provide comfort and care for families with children receiving medical treatment.


    A collection receptacle is located at the front entrance of the school where students and families can drop off their pop tops anytime. Every little tab helps! 💜💛

    The Rex Road PTA is seeking 4th and 5th grade parents to serve on this year’s 5th Grade Celebration Committee. 


    Volunteers Needed for Our February Book Fair

    We’re looking for co-chairs to help our Vice President plan and run the Book Fair in February! This is a fun and rewarding way to get involved, help students discover the joy of reading, and support our school.

    🏫 PTA General Meeting → Friday, October 17th from 9:30am-10:30am (Media Center)

    All families are invited to our next PTA meeting in the Media Center. Come hear about upcoming events, share your ideas, and connect with other Royals families.

    🎨 Reflections Art Contest Deadline → Friday, October 17th

    The PTA is excited to take part in this year’s Reflections Art Contest! This is a wonderful opportunity for our talented Royals to shine. The theme is “I Belong,” and students are invited to submit original works in visual arts, literature, music, dance, film, or photography. Encourage your child to get creative and show us what belonging means to them. All submissions are due by October 17th!

    ⛰️ Rock Solid Warrior Drop Off Spirit Night → Saturday, October 18th from 6:30pm-8:30pm

    Rock Solid Warrior of Apex is excited to welcome our Royals for a fun-filled Spirit Night on Saturday, October 18th, from 6:30 to 8:30pm. Admission is just $15 per person or $45 for families of 3 or more. Drop-off is available for ages 6 and up.


    20% of all proceeds will go directly to Rex Road Elementary. Come out, have a blast, and help support our school. Sign up today and let’s make it a night to remember for our Royals!

    🍁 Octob-Roar Fest → Thursday, October 23rd from 5:00pm - 7:30pm

    We’re thrilled to announce our first-ever Octob-Roar Fest on Thursday, October 23rd from 5:00pm-7:30pm. Join us for an evening filled with games, pumpkin decorating, raffle baskets, food trucks and fun activities for the whole family. As a brand-new school, this is a special milestone and we hope to make it a tradition for years to come. As a result of meeting both our original and stretch goals for the Dino Dash, both Mrs. McGuirt and Mrs. Lawrence will be getting slimed at the festival. You won’t want to miss it!
