Minimum Seat-Time Adjustments

Due to Excused Absences

Makeup seat time is not required for excused absences if the absence has been approved by the administration or occurs due to a holiday or inclement weather.

If a student needs to attend additional hours during shortened weeks to catch up on missed work, they may attend as many hours as their schedule supports.  Please note that additional time may also be arranged in collaboration with students and parents by a staff member.

When school is out due to inclement weather or when a student misses school due to an excused absence, the following adjustments will be made.

When proper documentation is received, seat time will be adjusted for pursuit absences.  Seat time is only excused for pursuit absences on days when students attend FLEX classes.  Seat time is not reduced if a student will be out on a Friday, as there are no scheduled classes on Fridays.

School Delay or Early Release

When school is delayed or released early, the administration will take into consideration the hours that students missed due to canceled classes that were affected by the delay or early release and adjust hours as needed.
