Dear Parents and Guardians,

Due to the forecasted winter weather and the fact that our students are not currently back at school yet, we are reaching out to provide guidance regarding Lake Myra’s plan for remote learning activities and Chromebook availability. Please see the Remote Learning plan details here. 

Please note that this information is being shared with you to keep you informed of our processes, and that the district has not made an adjustment to next week’s schedule at this time. WCPSS will reach out again this weekend if the forecast continues to suggest severe weather. 

All remote learning assignments and activities will be posted on our school website (Family Support–Remote Learning) by 4:00 PM this afternoon January 22nd.  Please note that all assignments can be completed without the use of technology using paper and pencil.  Students will have five days after returning to school to complete assignments. Teachers will be available by email or Talking Points on any remote learning day to answer questions and provide support. 

Parents/guardians of students in grades 3, 4, and 5 only may request to pick up their child’s Chromebook today  until 4:00 PM. We strongly encourage families to carefully consider whether picking up a Chromebook is truly necessary since all assignments/activities can be completed without one. Please be aware that only the charged Chromebook will be provided. Chargers will not be available, as they are attached to the classroom charging carts. If you do plan to come to the school to pick up a Chromebook, please message your child’s teacher today.
