Good Evening DRES Families,
We are excited to begin Quarter 3!
In anticipation of possible inclement weather next week, we have prepared Remote Instruction activities for students to complete if school is closed. If we are out of school on any day next week, it will be considered a Remote Instruction Day. This means it is still a school day, but students will work asynchronously on assigned tasks.
Our traditional colleagues were able to send packets and Chromebooks home with their students today; however, our students are currently tracked out. To make things simple for families, we have created grade-level choice boards that students can use to select activities to complete each remote day.
Please note that we are required to track attendance on Remote Instruction Days. To be counted present, students must complete:
-
one reading activity
-
one math activity
-
one writing activity
To help teachers track completion of work, families may choose one of the following options:
-
Send pictures of completed work to your child’s teacher through ClassDojo or email
-
Return the completed work in person when students return to school
-
Send a message to your child’s teacher (via Dojo or email) letting them know which activities were completed each day
In addition, our specialists have created choice boards with optional bonus activities for students to complete each day.
These boards can be found here or on our website under Family Support, then Remote Instruction January 2026. Teachers will also be sending these choice boards out via ClassDojo tomorrow.
Teachers will be available via email and Dojo through the day on Remote Instruction days, given they have internet, to answer any questions you may have.
Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to a great start to Quarter 3!
Please be safe and warm! As always, we are here for you.
