Chorus Panera Bread Spirit Night

The band program will present their Winter Concert on Friday, December 13, at 7 PM in the auditorium. The concert is FREE, however, we ask that you support the HSHS Food Drive by bringing 2-3 Food Drive Items.
There will be an interest meeting for anyone who wants to be on the Men's Tennis team this Spring at the beginning of A Lunch on Wednesday 12/11 in Mobile 6. If you cannot attend, please see Coach Rhodes
Students and parents, currently Leo Club is running a fundraiser from December 2nd through to December 20th for Zach's Toy Chest. Zach's Toy Chest. It is an organization that focuses on giving toys to children currently in the hospital with cancer. We would love it if you could help our student body by donating some toys and books. Each item brought in can count towards service hours, it will vary depending on which club(s) you are a part of. The requirements for the toys are listed below.
Requirements for the donations
-Toys must be brand new
-Unwrapped
-Preferably toys 10 dollars or above
-Homemade toys are acceptable
-Toys cannot contain food or chemicals
-Toys cannot look like realistic weapons
Zach's Toy Chest is always in need of children's books and toys for children of the age of 0-2 years old. All donations can be dropped off in room 1710. We appreciate your kindness and thank you in advance!

Hawk After School Tutoring HSHS Parents/Students. If you need additional tutoring and support for your studies, please join me on Wednesdays after school from 2:30pm- 4pm in the Media Center. Our first scheduled Study Hall will begin on October 23, 2024. We will have tutors on hand to assist as needed in areas such as math, science, and foreign languages. We encourage those that may be falling behind with completing assignments or need a quiet place to work, to join us. Please ensure that you bring your own charged device/laptop and resources to each session. All participating students will need to secure their own form of transportation. We will not be responsible for any transportation concerns.
Tutors please use the same form below to sign up. Make sure you identify your specialty areas that you are willing to tutor.
If you plan to attend: Please communicate using this Form no later than the end of the school day, Tuesday of each week. This information will help us provide the correct tutors available to assist students with their academic concerns.

Students interested in advanced manufacturing and apprenticeships/career opportunities after high school are invited to go on a tour of the Schunk advanced manufacturing facility on 12/2/2024. Need a Math tutor? The Math Honor Society is here to help students in any math course (Including Chemistry and Physics)! Please use this link to be paired with a tutor. After filling out the form, you must check your student email to correspond with your tutor upon getting paired. It is up to the student to contact their tutor and schedule a time and teacher’s room to meet in. Parents may also use this form to sign up their students for tutoring. This is great if you need consistent tutoring, or if you just want to be able to contact a tutor for some help! Wake Tech will be visiting on Monday, November 18th in the Media Center during lunch to support SENIORS that would like to complete the application for admission.

Attention Seniors and Juniors who will graduate early: WCPSS requires students to complete CPR training to graduate from high school. Students will receive instruction in the hands-only CPR technique. If you are a senior or early graduating junior who has already taken CPR, you will still need to attend your assigned CPR training session to sign off that you have completed the requirement. A link will be shared in another message for students to view their CPR groups and the date that they will need to attend a session. The dates that students may be assigned to are November 7, 8, 14, 15, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, or December 10. Students will only need to attend the one session that they are assigned to during HOT lunch. The Veterans' Drive hopes to get donations for the Missions Military and Action. The list is attached. All donated supplies can be dropped off in 1708. The peanut butter drive needs donations of peanut butter to help support our local food cupboard.

The HSHS Senior Signs are in! If you ordered a sign, there are 4 pick up opportunities at the High School during the coming weekends. The scheduled times are Saturday November 16, 2 PM - 4 PM: & Sunday November 17, 2:30 PM to 4: 30 PM.
There will be one between 5 and 6:30 PM on Thursday, Nov 14 as the Sunset Ridge North Pool. The address is 215 Kingsport Rd.

Hawk After School Tutoring HSHS Parents/Students. If you need additional tutoring and support for your studies, please join me on Wednesdays after school from 2:30pm- 4pm in the Media Center. Our first scheduled Study Hall will begin on October 23, 2024. We will have tutors on hand to assist as needed in areas such as math, science, and foreign languages. We encourage those that may be falling behind with completing assignments or need a quiet place to work, to join us. Please ensure that you bring your own charged device/laptop and resources to each session. All participating students will need to secure their own form of transportation. We will not be responsible for any transportation concerns.

Students Interested in Advanced Manufacturing. Students interested in advanced manufacturing and apprenticeships/career opportunities after high school are invited to go on a tour of the Schunk advanced manufacturing facility on 12/2/2024. Apprenticeship Informational Community night event: This year’s event is a collaborative effort between NCTAP, Wake Tech Community College, Wake Tech Apprenticeships powered by Wake Works, ApprenticeshipNC, and other key partners, highlighting youth and young adult apprenticeships. It is a great opportunity for students, parents, and local businesses to find out more about apprenticeship opportunities in our community. Date: Monday, November 18, 2024. Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Need a Math tutor? The Math Honor Society is here to help students in any math course (Including Chemistry and Physics)! Please use this link to be paired with a tutor. After filling out the form, you must check your student email to correspond with your tutor upon getting paired. It is up to the student to contact their tutor and schedule a time and teacher’s room to meet in. Parents may also use this form to sign up their students for tutoring. This is great if you need consistent tutoring, or if you just want to be able to contact a tutor for some help!
