I am so excited to be an Oakview Owl!! I am originally from Athens, Georgia but have been a Raleigh native for the past 8 years. I attended Appalachian State University and studied special education. While at Appalachian I had the great pleasure to work as a mentor at the As-U-R program in which I worked with college students that applied for assistance in areas of executive functioning. Additionally, for the past 3 summers I have gotten to work with some brilliant rising 6th and 8th graders at Student U, a non-profit college access program in Durham. As a graduate of the Wake County Public School System I am excited to return home and am anxiously looking forward to what the next year will bring! When I am not in the classroom I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, and am an avid movie-goer.
