Holiday Hugs: Each year, the Counseling and Student Services Staff of WMMMS provide a holiday assistance program for students in need called Holiday Hugs. Our goal is to give each student in the program two $25.00 gift cards. The Counseling and Student Services Staff need the help of our Wildcat community to make this possible. If you would like to help, please pick up an envelope, representing a $25 gift card, in the front office. Return your envelope with the gift card to the front office by Tuesday, December 9th. We appreciate your generosity!
NC Check Ins for Math 6+ will be given this week. NC Check Ins provide students and their teachers with data about mastery of grade-level-specific content standards which guides instruction. NC Check Ins are also a strong predictor of future EOG achievement.Spirit Day on WEDNESDAY! West vs. East Spirit Day! - Student Council is sponsoring a school-wide Blue and White Spirit Day this Thursday 12/11 to support our basketball teams who face off against East Millbrook after school in the gym. Let's show our school spirit by wearing school colors and let's go Wildcats!
Basketball season is here! Students who are staying for basketball games remain in their last period classroom until the announcement is made for them to report to the student gate area. Tickets may be purchased online at https://gofan.co/app/school/NC7400 or with cash at the student gate. Concession stand is open during home basketball games. Appropriate spectator behavior is required and school expectations must be met. Spectators must have rides in carpool when the game ends.
Interim grades were posted last week. Please log in to your parent portal and review your student’s grades to ensure they are meeting your academic expectations.
Tardy Sweeps will be randomly conducted in the coming weeks as one prong of our efforts to increase on time arrival to class.
For Year 3 Students from Ms. Wheeler: The Early College High School application deadline is next Friday, December 12th. If interested in applying, please go to wcpss.schoolmint.com. Career Development Plans for Year 3 Students:All Year 3 students are required to complete a Career Development Plan (CDP) before promotion to 9th grade. The CDP is completed in Major Clarity, accessible through each student’s Wake ID portal. Before Thanksgiving break, students learned how to log into Major Clarity and completed their first task—the Career Personality Assessment. Students who were absent can find the step-by-step instructions in the Year 3 Den on Canvas. During this lesson, students explored Holland’s six personality types to better understand their assessment results. Their next task will be assigned soon and will involve researching two potential careers. The CDP will play an important role in helping students plan for their academic and career pathways in high school.

Each year our PTA hosts a No Fuss Fundraiser so that the PTA can offer resources and programming for our students and teachers. Our PTA chooses the No Fuss Fundraiser rather than having students (and families) selling items like gift wrap or coupon books. If you’ve already supported the PTA fundraiser, THANK YOU. If you have not yet donated, this is a personal ask that you consider supporting our PTA through a donation. Details may be found HERE.
School is closed on Monday for a teacher workday. School resumes on Tuesday at 8:15am.
Thanks to North Raleigh Florist who gifted bouquets for our families in carpool last Wednesday. Petal It Forward is a national initiative hosted by the Society of American Florists (SAF) where local florists give away bouquets of flowers. It was so much fun to see the smiles than an unexpected gift of flowers brought to our families in carpool! Thanks to Ms. Alawar, manager of North Raleigh Florist and proud parent of 2 Wildcats, for making this possible!
Unity Day: October is National Anti-Bullying month. On Wednesday, October 22nd, West Millbrook Magnet Middle School will join with schools across the nation to celebrate Unity Day! This is a day when all students, faculty and staff are encouraged to wear ORANGE to show unity for kindness, acceptance and inclusion and to send a visible message that no child should ever experience bullying. Please encourage your child(ren) to wear orange clothing and/ or accessories on the 22nd to show their support for this cause!
Late/Missing Work: October 24 (this Friday) is the last day to submit late or missing work for Quarter 1. Please review your child’s grades in Infinite Campus and encourage him/her to submit any missing assignments prior to the deadline.
Wildcat Artists Featured at the NC State Fair: Price Taylor, Madelyn Gault, Zoe Rummage, Barbara Tanabe, Violet Frost and Crosby Miller have work on display at the NC State Fair! If you would like to opt your child out of the BIMAS-2 screener for the 2025-2026 school year, please fill out the form included in the letter and return it to your child's Be IB teacher no later than October 22nd.
