    Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)

Abbotts Creek Elementary is looking forward to implementing a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) program in the fall of 2018.  The option to bring personal devices to school for personal use will be available to students in grades 3-5 in the fall of 2018, with second grade joining after winter break.

Abbotts Creek’s BYOD program will support and enhance the school’s mission to provide relevant and engaging education while preparing students who are collaborative, creative, effective communicators and critical thinkers.

    Why BYOD?

Allowing students to bring and use their own devices will increase the number of devices in a classroom, enabling us to increase student communication and collaboration, provide personalized and student driven learning, encourage students to become more familiar and customize their own device.

    What should my child bring?

Students may bring any device that can connect and function on our BYOD wireless network.  BYOD elgible devices include smartphones, iPod touches, tablets, laptops, and chrome books.  While there are many options for devices, chrome books, small laptops, or tablets with keyboards will be the most versatile/useful.

What if my child cannot bring in a device?

No child will be left out of instruction.  School devices will still be available for student use.
