Douglas Elementary is a Creative Arts and Science Magnet School where arts and sciences are woven into the fabric of instruction, exposing students to a variety of integrated activities and ways of learning.

In addition, our students receive specialized instruction in creative movement (dance), drama, visual arts, music, science, media/technology, and PE provided by instructors certified in those specific areas. 

These specialists and our classroom teachers regularly plan together to integrate the arts and science curricula with the skills and concepts being taught in the general classroom. This creates a rich, connected learning environment where students are actively engaged, teachers enjoy teaching, and there’s a beautiful hum throughout the building.
