East Wake Magnet High School is the newest magnet high school in Wake County! We are the only school in the district to offer the iTech and Design magnet theme. 

Students will have the opportunity to participate in a dual enrollment program with Wake Tech Community College. They can take courses at Wake Tech’s new campus, which is conveniently located near our school. Courses in engineering, mechanical engineering, drone technology, and general education will be available.  Additionally, our students will have the unique opportunity to use some of the innovation labs on WakeTech’s campus.   

Design Thinking will enhance classrooms in our iTech & Design magnet theme. Through Design Thinking, we are growing the problem-solvers and creative thinkers of tomorrow.  Our staff is working with NC State’s College of Design to apply design thinking skills to all classroom learning. Students will move through the design thinking cycle to generate ideas, design prototypes, and test solutions.  

Our new AVID program will focus on preparing students with college-ready skills. We’re developing a close relationship with our business partners to identify the skills students need beyond graduation.  

With our new iTech & Design program, we will be adding theme-specific electives that align directly with the pathways on Wake Tech’s campus.
