Dear Parents,

Our school will offer the PSAT the week of October 14. The registration deadline is Tuesday, September 17. Additional information, including the link to the registration form can be found at  http://bit.ly/lrhspsat24

The PSAT is an optional standardized, multiple-choice test that includes three sections: critical reading, mathematics and writing. The test provides practice for the SAT and offers insight for advising and counseling students.

The PSAT allows 11th grade students the opportunity to potentially qualify for a National Merit scholarship if they receive a very high score (generally the top 1%). For this reason, WCPSS is offering the test free of charge to those students with a weighted GPA in the top 10% of the junior class (weighted GPS of 4.375 or higher), as we do not want to deny any student who might be competitive for that program the opportunity to take the test due to inability to pay.  Qualified juniors received an email from Ms Arwood on Friday, August 30.
