All 6th Graders at HMS will need the following materials/supplies:

• One binder (2-2 ½ in): Please consider a durable binder with outer plastic protection, pockets inside AND an Easy Open/One touch ring opener.  IF you are able to make this investment, your child’s binders should last the entire school year.  

• 1 pack of dividers

• 1 heavy-duty poly folder (for homework papers)

• 1 pack of colored pencils

• 3 boxes of pre-sharpened No. 2 pencils (give to homeroom teacher)

• 2 Sharpies (black)

• 1 zippered pencil pouch

• Highlighters (2 different colors)

• 2 boxes of Kleenex (delivered to the homeroom teacher)

• 4 glue sticks

• Wired earbuds or Wired headphones (NO Bluetooth)

Donations (If willing and able, we would appreciate the following items to be donated):

Below are additional materials/supplies needed for each particular track. You will only need to get the materials/supplies listed below for your student/students assigned track. 

TRACK 1:

• 1 Composition Notebook ELA (label with name and “6/1”)

• A 3-subject notebook with pocket inserts SCIENCE (Mead 5-star plastic cover tends to be the most sturdy, labeled with name & 6/1)

• Extra glue sticks (usually 3 per quarter)

TRACK 3:

• Science: A 3-subject notebook with pocket inserts (Mead 5-star plastic cover tends to be the most sturdy, labeled with name & 6/3)

TRACK 4:

• One 5-subject notebook and 1 pack of 4 expo markers (Math)

• Extra glue sticks (usually 3 per quarter) Science

To better assist your child with starting out the new school year in an organized manner, please consider the following: unpack all materials (keep the extras at home), label materials (first & last name AND track number), set up binders with paper (a whole pack of paper is too much), and sharpen pencils.  PLEASE label lunch boxes and water bottles.
