Throughout my educational career, I have been committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where both students and staff thrive. I believe in the mission of the Lacy Elementary community to partner together to empower students within a culture that fosters relationships, engagement, collaboration, and learning. This mission will guide my efforts as we work collectively to achieve our goals.

I would like to share a little about my educational background that has led me to this great opportunity of serving as the principal of Lacy Elementary. I am originally from Medina, Ohio, where I earned my undergraduate degree in Special Education from the University of Akron. I earned a Master’s Degree in Special Education at East Carolina University and a Masters of School Administration degree in 2013 from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. I began my teaching career as a 3rd-5th grade Special Education Teacher in Ohio before moving to Wilmington, North Carolina, where I taught Special Education for 7 years. I served as an administrative intern at Murrayville Elementary School in Wilmington and North Garner Middle School. Additionally, I have served as an assistant principal at East Garner Magnet Middle School, Needham B. Broughton Magnet High School, and Willow Spring High School. My journey has taken me from the classroom to various leadership roles, and I am eager to bring my passion, experience, and dedication to Lacy Elementary.

Beyond school, my interests involve spending time with my daughter Quinn (12), working with faith-based groups, family vacations and engaging in community activities. I believe that a balanced life enriches our work, and I look forward to sharing my experiences and learning about yours.
