Mrs. JeLynn Crane

I have had the privilege of being part of the Lacy family since August 2008. When I first joined, I worked as a special education resource teacher, primarily with 4th and 5th graders. My story is similar to that of many elementary school teachers—I knew from a very young age that I wanted to teach. School did not come easily to me, but the amazing teachers I had inspired me to pursue education so I could help others the way they helped me. I believe that ALL children can and want to learn, and it is our responsibility as educators to support, encourage, and create an environment where that is possible.

I am a proud product of Wake County Public Schools and graduated from Sanderson High School in 1992. I earned my bachelor’s degree in 1996 from East Carolina University before moving to Denver, Colorado, where I taught high school for 12 years. While in Denver, I attended the University of Colorado and completed my master’s degree in school leadership and administration.

My husband is also a graduate of Wake County Public Schools, Broughton High School, class of 1991. We knew that moving back to Raleigh, where our children could attend school, was the best decision for our family. My husband has worked for the City of Raleigh since 2008 and is currently the Deputy Planning Director. We have two children—Avery, who attends Appalachian State University, and Carson, who is at Wake Tech.

Please feel free to stop by my office, send me an email, or call if there is anything I can do to support you, your child, and your family.
