I have had the privilege to be part of the Lacy family since August 2008.  When I started at Lacy I worked as a special education resource teacher primarily working with 4th and 5th graders.  My story is like most elementary school teachers.  I knew from a very young age I wanted to be a teacher.  School was not easy for me, but the amazing teachers I had made me want to become a teacher so I could help others the way they helped me.  I believe that ALL children can and want to learn and it is our job as educators to support, encourage and create an environment where that is possible.

I am a product of Wake County Public Schools and graduated from Sanderson High School in 1992.  I earned my bachelors degree in 1996 from East Carolina University and then moved to Denver, Colorado where I taught high school for 12 years.  While living in Denver I attended the University of Colorado and completed my masters degree in school leadership and administration.  My husband is also a product of Wake County Public Schools,  Broughton class of 1991. We knew moving back to Raleigh where our children could attend school was the best decision for our family.  My husband has been with the City of Raleigh since 2008 and is currently the Deputy Planning Director.  We have 2 high shcool children, Avery and Carson.
