Enloe Magnet High School Attendance Policy
Attendance Office Location and Pick-up: WEST Building Main Office
Attendance and participation in class are essential for student success. Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that students come to school every day and stay for the full day. Students are expected to:

Arrive at school on time.

Stay until dismissal.
Be present in each class from start to finish.
Arrival & Tardy Procedures

Arrival Time: Students must arrive by 7:15 am to reach 1st period before the 7:25 late bell.

Doors Open: The main doors open at 6:45 am.

If Late (7:25–7:35): Report to the Tardy Station in your building.

If Later Than 7:35: Report to the Attendance Office (Main Office) for a tardy pass.

Excuse Notes: A written (printed or digital) note signed by a parent/guardian is required when arriving late. If no note is provided, a parent will be contacted to verify.
Early Check-Out Procedures

Students leaving during the school day must check out at the Attendance Office (Main Office).

To receive a pass:

Bring a parent/guardian note to the Attendance Office before 7:25 am.

Students without a note cannot leave until parent/guardian contact is made.

Absences
Absences are recorded as Excused or Unexcused. A parent or guardian must submit a written excuse (print or digital) to the attendance office within two days of the student’s return after an absence.

Excused Absences include:

Illness or injury
-
Death in the Immediate family
-
Health care appointments
-
Court appearances
-
Religious observances
-
Natural disasters
-
Pre-approved educational opportunities approved by administration
Unexcused Absences: Any reason not listed above.
Exam Exemption Policy

Students in grades 9-12 with an A or B in the class, no more than 10 absences per class AND 9 or less tardies may be exempt from final exams.

All absences (excused & unexcused) count toward the 10 days.

School sponsored Field trips and school sporting events do not count toward the 10 days.
Educational Absences
Per Wake County Board of Education Policy 6000, excused educational absences must be approved in advance.
To qualify:

The activity must be educational in intent and comparable to in-school learning. Attach information concerning the learning objectives and /or structure of the activity to receive approval.
Examples of absences not excused: family vacations, outside sports or club events, or trips not designed to be educational.
