  • Medical Bio-Science Academy

The Medical Bio-Science Academy's mission is to provide students with sound academic foundations and technical skills that will enable them to continue their educations beyond high school and obtain employment in healthcare fields. Through the efforts of team planning, Enloe has developed a curriculum that integrates the technical skills and terminology of health-related occupations. Core courses and specific electives are offered. The total curriculum is designed to nurture student interest in health-related careers and to better advise them of career options in the medical field.

    NAF Future Ready

Enloe MBSA is an NAF academy. All students in our academy will become NAFTrack certified. As an NAF/MBSA student, NAF takes students beyond what traditional high schools offer by providing access to the tools that will help them navigate and build skills for what’s next, whether that’s college, a career, or another pathway. Future leaders benefit from personalized, career-connected learning when they enroll in our Academies of Health Sciences, and additional programs of study that are aligned with the National Career Clusters Framework. As an NAF academy, we have the opportunity to work with some of NAF's national partners, including, but not limited to: Lenovo, Optum, United Health Care, and Accenture. These partners help provide internships, job shadowing, and professional development to prepare our students to be future-ready.

What can students expect in the academy?

Students can expect to be cohorted in their core classes with other MBSA students. Students will also get a chance to interact with guest speakers, and attend field trips related to medical careers, career counseling, summer internship, career exploration, hands-on activities, integrated curriculum, and certifications in CPR/First Aid/AED, Stop the Bleed, CNA, and EMT. What is a Career Academy?

Career Academies are personalized small learning communities within a school comprised of a small group of students and teachers for four years. Academy classes are usually blocked back-to-back in the daily schedule, and students attend them as a group. Students can complete academy requirements within the regular school day, except for work internships, community service and some projects. Career Academies are open for rising Freshmen. Applications are accepted the spring of their 8th grade year.

In compliance with federal law, Wake County Public School System administers all education programs, employment activities, and admissions without discrimination against any person on the basis of gender, race, color, religion, national origin, age or disability.
