Welcome to Lead Mine!  My name is Amy Byers and I am the music specialist.   I have been teaching elementary music since 1995.  I taught in Stanly County and Randolph County, prior to arriving in Wake County.  I received my education through Carson-Newman University and later East Carolina University. 

I am a native of Virginia.  It was there I met and married my wonderful husband Steve.  We have one daughter, Hannah, who is our pride and joy.   Our terrier mix, Rosie, joined our family a few years ago. She brought lots of energy and fun to our house!   We love to spend time as family, we love spending time with our church family, and we all love music!

I am happy to be a part of the Lead Mine family.  I look forward to working with your children this year! It is my hope that I can share a love of music and the arts with your children, so that they will love it for a lifetime!!
