    Jo Ellen Newhouse is a proud product of the Wake County Public Schools, having graduated from Enloe High.  She received her BA in English Education from UNC-CH, her M.Ed. in English from UMass-Boston, and her administrative licensure from Bridgewater State University.  Ms. Newhouse taught English at Cary High, Carroll Middle, Stoughton High (MA), and Leesville Road High.  She served as an assistant principal at Leesville Road High and Pine Hollow Middle before serving as principal of Heritage Middle School.  She is excited to return to the high school level.

    The HHS Business Alliance is seeking parent and community volunteers for these upcoming events. Consider giving your time to make a positive impact on our students. Sign up details.

    +Wednesday, April 29th starting at 7:45am.  Need 5 volunteers to conduct mock interviews with Health Science students. There are multiple time slots to choose from.

    + Monday, April 20 - 9th-11th Grade Course Request Verification Forms will be distributed in homeroom; signed forms are due April 30th to Student Services even if no changes are needed

    + Thursday, April 23 - Virtual Conference Night, 5-7:30pm, call 919-570-5600 ext. 20712 to schedule an appointment with your student’s teacher(s)

    HHS Student Services will offer the SOS (Signs of Suicide) Prevention Program to all 12th-grade students enrolled in English 4 or AP English Literature beginning this coming week.  If you do not want your child to participate, notify their English teacher today.  If we do not receive communication from you by today, we will assume your child has permission to participate.  If you have any questions, please contact your student’s counselor.

    The HHS PTSA Scholarship application window is open through May 1. 

    Class of 2026 -  Please report all scholarship offers here, even if you aren’t accepting the offer(s).

    College and Career Planning Night - Join us this Thursday, April 16th to explore a wide range of opportunities at our College & Career Fair featuring representatives from colleges, trade schools, the military, and local career organizations.  In addition to the fair, breakout sessions include college admissions planning, dual enrollment opportunities, NCAA eligibility, and programs at Wake Tech.  Don’t miss this chance to connect with experts, ask questions, better understand post-secondary pathways and start planning for life after high school!

    Prom Information for Juniors and Seniors - Join us on Saturday, April 18th, at the Marriott Crabtree from 7:00 to 11:00 PM. Tickets are available now through April 15th. All tickets—including those for HHS students, underclassmen guests, and non-HHS guests—must be purchased through SchoolCash Online. All guest forms were due by Friday, April 10th, at 2:30 PM. No late forms will be accepted! There will be a clear bag policy in effect, no entry after 9:30 pm, and no re-entry once you leave. Direct questions to Ms. Fullbright.

    Senior Specific Information - HHS Baccalaureate Service June 14, 2026 @ 2:00 pm - Please join us as we celebrate the Heritage High School CLASS OF 2026!  The community will honor all seniors in a baccalaureate service.  All seniors, families and friends are welcome to attend!  There will be a photo opportunity and light refreshments available after the service.  Location: Hope Lutheran Church, 3525 Rogers Road, Wake Forest NC 27587. *Seniors please arrive dressed in cap and gown by 1:45 pm*
