I have been employed with the Wake County Public School System for ten years.  I have taught special education as well as fourth grade.  I am very excited about teaching fourth grade at Oakview Elementary and working with my team.  I look forward to creating a positive learning environment in which students will grow academically and socially.   

My hobbies include working out, coaching travel softball, going to the beach, and spending time with family and friends.  Tyler and I have Bradley, a senior at UNCW, and Kaitlyn who is a junior at Garner Magnet High School.   

My teaching philosophy is to build positive relationships with my students and provide them with the tools they need to be successful 21st century learners.  I challenge my students daily to be their best, to collaborate with peers, and to be problem solvers so that they can be successful in the future.
