What is Dual Enrollment?
-
-
Dual Enrollment allows high school students to enroll in college courses and earn both high school and college credits simultaneously. This unique opportunity gives students a head start on their college education while still attending high school.
- Through Dual Enrollment, students can take college courses through approved pathways at Wake Tech (or NC State) and earn both high school and college credit. Dual enrollment courses are made to give high school students a head start on college general core courses, taking classes for certification at a community college, or experiencing a community college experience while in high school. Take a look at this graphic to determine if this option might be a good fit for you: "Considerations for College Credits"
- Athens Drive High School graduation requirements will typically be taken through our traditional high school courses. While some dual enrollment courses can satisfy equivalent requirements, your schedule at Athens will likely include all graduation requirements, and enrollment at Wake Tech or NCSU does not dictate your schedule at Athens.
