New Student Enrollment

Families who are new to WCPSS, including rising Kindergarten families, will need to register their children at their 2021-2022 base school until the Barton Pond office is up and running in July/August.  So long as Barton Pond is your assigned base school for 2022-2023, your child will be automatically transferred for next school year. 

Reassignment and Transfers

Students are assigned to Barton Pond in the 2022-2023 school year from a base attendance zone, largely pulling from areas previously zoned for Baileywick, Jeffrey’s Grove, Lead Mine, Leesville, Lynn Road, Sycamore Creek elementary schools (fuschia area). Some families are also able to request Barton Pond as a Traditional Calendar option (teal area). 

Request a School Transfer for 2022-23 

Apply for a transfer between February 25 and March 11, 2022.

• Families of existing Wake County students can still submit transfer requests after March 11, 2022. Not all decisions are eligible for appeal to the school board.
• Families of students newly enrolled into Wake County Public School System can submit a request for transfer within the first 10 days of enrollment. Those requests would be eligible for appeal to the school board if denied by staff. See Board Policy 4100.D.1.a. for more information.
