Mrs. Thomas is elated to join the Barton Pond family as the Kindergarten/First Grade Interventionist-Instructional Facilitator. Crossing county lines to become a Barton Pond Bullfrog, Mrs. Thomas worked in Wayne County for the past seventeen of her twenty-seven-year career. She is a National Board Certified Teacher (Early Childhood Generalist) who loves to empower students to own their learning, embed critical thinking skills in activities, and live to see that “light bulb” moment each day. Throughout her multi-faceted career, Mrs. Thomas has had the honor to serve students and families in different capacities: Title I Lead Teacher and Interventionist, taught Kindergarten through Third Grades, organize parent engagement events and activities, and assumed several leadership roles to support students and staff. Mrs. Thomas also has her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership which allowed her to broaden her scope on the importance of providing meaningful, effective, and rigorous instruction. She is overjoyed to call herself a Barton Pond Bullfrog and looks forward to collaborating, creating, learning, and building positive relationships with our students, staff, families, and community this upcoming school year.
