Curriculum and Forms
If you are interested in embarking upon an incredible and exciting journey! The Academy of Life Sciences will provide you with an academic foundation and technical skills that will enable you to continue your education beyond high school, leading to a desirable health-related career. This is a unique opportunity for you to participate in a small, career‐focused, learning community with other students who are interested in many of the same subjects. Applications from students to attend the Academy of Life Sciences will only be processed if the student is assigned to East Wake High School as the base school.
The 2025-2026 application will be available in the last week of February 2025.
Students will be notified of acceptance via email.

PRE-MEDICAL TRACK REQUIRED & SUPPLEMENTAL ELECTIVES:
9th grade: Foundations of Health Science (Health Team Relations) (Paired with English 1)
10th grade: Health Science I (Paired with Biology)
11th grade: Health Science II or Biomedical Technology (Paired with English 3)
12th grade: Choose from the following courses - Nursing Fundamentals and Practicum (CNA), College and Career Promise at Wake Tech Community College, Apprenticeship, or Advanced Studies.
11th or 12th grade: Required Internships (135 hours). This can be done during the summer.

PRE-VETERINARIAN TRACK REQUIRED & SUPPLEMENTAL ELECTIVES:
9th grade: Agriscience Applications (Paired with English 1)
10th grade: Animal Science I (Paired with Biology)
11th grade: Animal Science II (Paired with English 3)
12th grade: Choose from the following courses - College and Career Promise at Wake Tech Community College, Apprenticeship, or Advanced Studies.
11th or 12th grade: Required Internships (135 hours). This can be done during the summer.
