Youth Leadership Garner is an exciting program that began in 2019. This program is designed to focus on developing the potential of future leaders. The program covers a wide variety of topics that will help participants understand critical parts of how businesses, communities and individual leaders work together. This understanding and knowledge will put students in a position to make a difference and be a true leader as they face the future.

Through a specific application process, students at South Garner High School will be invited to participate in the program. Fourteen Sophomores and/or Juniors will be selected from South Garner High School.  This group will be combined with another group of high school students from the area to participate in various activities two to three times during the year. These sessions will be held off campus during the school day relative to the monthly topic. These topics are subject to change as we are awaiting confirmation from our business and community sponsors.

Online applications will be available in October. 

The Chick-fil-A Leader Academy™ is a national high school leadership program focused on IMPACT THROUGH ACTION. The world needs more leaders who impact their local communities, and the Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy believes high school students are the answer! 

Our chapter is a program that is focused on developing the leadership skills of high school students. Through the leader labs and semester projects, students will develop their skills by applying and practicing what they learn, all while serving South Garner High School and the local community. 

Applications for the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy open at the beginning of every school year. 

Interact is an international organization and junior Rotary Club for young people ages 14-18 who want to serve their communities and the world. The name "Interact" is a combination of the words "international" and "action". Interact clubs are self-governing and self-supporting, and are based in schools or communities. The South Garner High School Interact Club is sponsored by Garner Morning Rotary Club.  

The South Garner High School Interact club organizes multiple projects every year. One project will help SGHS or our community, one will promote international understanding, and other projects will focus on various areas of serving Self Over Others. The Garner Morning Rotary Club sponsors, mentors, participates, and guides our student members as they carry out projects and develop leadership skills.
