Dear New Family to CMMS,

Congratulations on being selected to attend Carroll Magnet Middle School next year! We are thrilled to have your family join our community. Middle school is a pivotal season of growth, and our mission is to provide a learning environment that doesn’t just prepare students for high school but for our rapidly changing world. 

Our school’s magnet theme, Leadership in Technology, is centered around STEM innovation and Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens. We are proud to offer engaging and innovative electives that will spark creativity, curiosity, and interest in the areas of science, technology, engineering, entrepreneurship, visual and performing arts and much more. We also pride ourselves in our integration of Covey’s 7 Habits to foster social and emotional intelligence and create student leaders. We believe that a great engineer, author, scientist, or entrepreneur must first learn to be a great leader. 

Throughout the year, students will practice the 7 Habits which are:

Habit #2 - Begin with the End in Mind: Defining their goals and mission.

Habit #3 - Put First Things First: Prioritizing what matters most.

Habit #4 - Think Win-Win: Seeking mutually beneficial solutions.

Habit #5 - Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood: Practicing empathetic listening.

Habit #6 - Synergize: Working together to achieve more.

Habit #7 - Sharpen the Saw: Renewing themselves regularly for balance.
